  1. School Stakeholders Award 2017
Bright Day School, CBSE Unit, Harni is awarded the ‘School Stakeholders’ Award 2017’, in the felicitation ceremony held in ‘India Education Leadership Summit & Award Ceremony’ held on 21st January 2018 in New Delhi. The ‘School Stakeholders Award 2017’ comprises of awards for Managing Trustee - Mr. Simit Shah, Principal – Smt. Neeta Sharma, Teacher - Ms. Deeps hikha Shukla, Student - Vaishnavi Bhoite. The awardees were felicitated by Shri Anil Swarup –Secretary, Department of Education, MHRD, Govt. of India.
  1. Educator’s Award 2017
Principal Smt. Neeta Sharma won the ‘Principal of the year (Secondary) Educator’s Award 2017’ at the State Level in The Open Page - 4th Educator’s Award, 2017-18. The Chief Guests of the function were Governor Shri Om Prakash Kohli & Lord Bhikhu Parekh.
  1. CBSE Regional Level Science Exhibition 2017-18
Ayush Ganatra and Vinit Udasi of Std. XI presented the Science project on ‘Corn-A Golden Fiber’ in CBSE Regional Level Science Exhibition 2017-18. The project is selected for National Level Science Exhibition to be held in Feb at Delhi.

Akash Samanta and Debargh Ghosh of Std. XI participated in CBSE Regional Level Science Exhibition 2017-18 in Mathematical Modelling and presented the topic Mathematical Magic for Optimum Yeild.

Jaival Rana of Std. IV G secured the 2nd Runners up position, Mahir Rana and Het Patadia of Std. II F secured the 3rd Runners  up position and Vraj Shah of Std. XI participated in 22nd UCMAS Abacus & Mental Arithmetic International Competition held in December, 2017 at Malaysia

Brightians secured the top position and received the Certificate of Appreciation for their performance in ‘Flinnt’ September Online Challenge.
  1. Inter School Debate Competition
Riya Gupta of Std. VIII B secured the 1st Runner’s up Trophy, Medal and a Certificate, Atharva Raval of Std. VIII B, Trambakeshwar Shrungi of Std.VII A, Chahana Kamdar of Std. VII B participated in Inter School Debate Competition organized by Bal Bhavan.
  1. Inter School Science Quiz
Ananykumar Pradhan of VII B, Gul Batra of Std.VII A, Yena Shah of Std. VIII C and Jayvardhan Mudgal of Std. VIII E participated in Interschool Science Quiz contest organized by Bal Bhavan Society. Ananykumar Pradhan of VII B and Jayvardhan Mudgal of Std. VIII E qualified the elimination round.
  1. Spell Bee International Competition
Smit Patel of Std. II-E, Abhishek Bhatt of Std. II-E are awarded with a  Certificate and a Medal under group-II and Shourya Patel of Std. III-G is awarded with a Certificate under group-III for the performance in the Inter School level of Spell Bee International Competition.

 

Kavish Shah of Std. IV B is the School Topper and is awarded a Certificate and a Medal and Vedant Gandhi of Std. IV B is awarded a Certificate of Achievement under group-IV for their performance in the Inter School Level of Spell Bee International Competition.
Uditi Sheth of Std. V C received a trophy for participating in State Orals & National Written Competition organized by MaRRS International Spelling Bee.
Following students participated in “Expressions” Unveiling Creativity organized by Nalanda International School, Vadodara.
Malhar Bharbhaya of Std. VIII F, Khushi Divecha of Std. VIII F and Kavya Purohit of Std. VIII F secured the 3rd position in the Inter School Softboard Decoration Competition.
Shilohshaan Isaac of Std. IV F and Simontika Chaterjee of Std. IV B  participated in Fairy Tale Narration Competition
Atmodeepesh of Std. VI B and Slesha Shah of Std. VI B participated in Duet Song Competition.
Brightians received Medals and Medal of Excellence in SOF International English Olympiad(Level-1):
Neel Thomas, Dhyey Patel, Ansh Shah and Aayush Naik of Std. X D won the 1st position in 29th Open Gujarat Inter School Team Chess Championship 2018 organized by Baroda Chess Academy. This is the third consecutive year that Brightians have emerged Champions.
Purvanshu Patel of Std. VII B received 2 Bronze Medals, Nishit Parikh of Std. VI D received a Gold & Silver Medal, Aaryan Makwana of Std. VI D received a Gold Medal, Param Vyas of Std. IV C received Silver and a Bronze Medal from Roller Skating Federation of India.

 

Vidhi Sheth of Std. X C secured the 1st position in TIME TRIAL (300m) & RINK (1000m) and 2ndposition in ROAD RACE in Khel Mahakumbh U/17 in speed Skating Sport from Vadodara district in the State Level Competition of 1000m event in Quards. She also participated in National School Games 2017-18 organized by SGFI.
Krishna Patni of Std. VI E bagged 1 Bronze medal in 100m Running Race and Atib Saiyad of Std. VI B bagged 2 Gold medals in 60m & 100m Running Race organized by VNM Khel Utsav. Atib also bagged the 1st position - Gold Medal.
Farhan Palanpurwala of Std. VIII E bagged a bronze medal in the Gyan Sarovar Athletic Meet.
Anushyaa Kaithwas of Std. V B, Rutul Gohil of Std. V F, Krishna Patni of Std. VI E, Kartikay Nanda of Std. VIII C participated in 100m, 4x100m Relay, Krish Hirpara of Std. VI A, Vansh Patel and Hemakshi Chavda of Std. VI C, Dhruv Patel of Std. VIII B, Fenil Bakrania and Nikhil Daurani of Std. VIII F in 200m, 4x100m Relay participated in 3rd Gyan Sarovar Athletic Meet 2017-18.
   
Shardul Pattankar of Std. II C and Yashasvi Pattankar of Std. VI C are awarded a Gold Medal and are also the Champion in the Open Baroda Carrom Tournament organized by Baroda District Carrom Association affiliated with Gujarat State Carrom Association. Shardul also secured the 1st position in Cadet Category for Baroda District Level Boys U/12 age group and Yashasvi secured the 2nd Runner’s up position in the category of girls U/12 in the Gujarat Carrom Selection Tournament for the event of cadets organized by Gujarat State Carrom Association affiliated with All India Carrom Federation and Indian Olympic Association. She also secured the 2nd Runner’s up position in the category U/18 in the Gujarat Carrom Tournament for the event of Singles organized at Vadodara Gujarat State Carrom Association.
   
Rachit Rochwani of Std. II E and Abhishek Rochwani of Std. VI A are awarded Bronze Medal in Vadodara International Marathon. Abhishek participated in Badminton Tournament U/11.
Rutva Pandya of Std. I C won silver medal in 31st Gujarat State  Roller Skating Championship held at Ahmedabad organized by Roller Skating Federation of India.
Harshil Makwana of Std. VIII A secured the 1st position in the event of Boy’s U-14 Singles, and a participation certificate in Boy’s U-16 Singles in the Open Baroda Tennis Tournament organized by Bal Bhavan Society, Vadodara.
Jainil Desai of Std. VI C participated in the Chess Tournament organized by Baroda Chess Tournament.
 
Jainil Joglekar of Std. IX A won Champion of champions trophy a Gold Medal (1st Place) in Kumite and Silver Medal in Kata for excellent performance in 13th Baroda District Inter Do-Jo-Ryu Karate Championship-2018.
Hemadri Ganpule of Std. VII A received Junior and Senior White Belt in International Karate Do Federation India. She also received a Gold Medal in Open National Karate Championship organized by Shotokan Karate Do Association India.
Hannen Vohra of Std. VI B received a Gold and a Silver medal in National Karate Tournament.
Karuna Sharma of Std. VI A bagged a Gold and a Silver medal in All Gujarat Wado Ryu Karate Championship 2017.
Krish Shah of Std. VI B received a Bronze Medal in Karate Championship (Kata).
 
Jenith Sharma of Std. VI A received a Gold Medal in 3rd WADO-INTER-DO-JO Kumite Championship 2018.
Harshil Desai of Std. V B bagged the 2nd position and received Brown belt in Shotokan International Karate Do Federation of India.
Anshuman Das of Std. II E, Dhwani Pandya of Std. III E, Aravsinh Dabhi of Std. III G, Preet Chauhan of Std. IV A, Pratiti Trivedi of Std. IV B, Sakshi Rai of Std. IV C, Arya Saraf of Std. IV G, Prem Pathak of Std. V A, Nitya Gandhi of Std. V C, Kamyaa Joshi of Std. VI A bagged 2 Gold Medals each, Agreem Ganpule of Std. I A secured the 1st position in Kata in the 3rd SKDA National Open Karate Championship-2017.
Shubham Darji of Std. VI A bagged the 2nd prize in Inter School Painting Competition organized by SOCLEEN. He also secured the 1st position in Little Star Drawing Competition 2017 and the 2nd position in Open Baroda Art Competition organized by Bal Bhavan Society.
Param Darji of Std. III A & Vansh Patel of Std. VI C won the Runner’s up trophy and Prajakta Ladke of Std. IV A secured the 2nd position in Little Star Drawing Competition 2017.
Veda Biju of Std. I A, Dhiya Nandwani of Std. I E, Krisha Shah of Std. I H, Sreenidhi Pillai of Std. II H, Yug Pandya of Std. IV B, Aashna Ballabh of Std. IV C, Prachi Khandelwal of Std. V D, Shubham Darji of Std. VI A, Om Pandya of Std. VIII E, Preety Padhiyar of Std. X E are the winners of Camel Color Contest- 2017 at school level.
Aashna Ballabh of Std. IV C participated in Kala Sarthi Art Foundation.
Jheel Patel of Std. III A received a certificate in the 9th International Youth and Child Art Exhibition Organized by Young Envoys International Hyderabad.
   
Himani Desai of Std. IV A and Vir Shah of Std. IV D received a Distinction Certificate in Fragrance of Art Buds, International Youth and Child Art Exhibition.
Vidhi Shah of Std. V F is awarded with a trophy for participating in Painting Exhibition 2017.
Sriyans Chakrabarty of Std. V A received a participation Certificate in Zep  Wizard organized by ZEPTO Learning.
Vraj Shah of Std. VII F successfully completed intermediate level and is awarded with a certificate in UCMAS.
Hem Mehta of Std. VI C completed 7th level of UCMAS with 92%.
Kavina Thakkar of Std. IV G passed Bharatnatyam exam with 1st class organized by Gandharva Mahavidyalay.
Rudra Thakkar of Std. IV B secured the 1st Runner’s up position in Swar Gandhar Bal Geet Competititon-2017 (in Key Board) and is awarded a trophy and a certificate.
Rishi Parikh of Std. VI A secured the 1st position in Kite Flying Competition.
Preksha Sarvaiya of Std. VI F participated in the Spring Best Smile 2018 and is awarded with a Sachet.

 

CELEBRATIONS

  • ANNUAL SPORTS MEET - STD I TO XII

Bright Day School CBSE Unit organized the Annual Sports Meet for Std. I to XII. It started with oath taking ceremony and students solemnly pledged to uphold the spirit of true sportsmanship. Brightians disseminated the message of ‘Save Birds’, ‘Safe Uttarayan’ through display of kites. Our esteemed Managing Trustee - Shri. Simit Shah declared the Sports Meet Open. The st udents enjoyed participating in various events like Running Race, Book Balancing, Potato Race, Hopping Race, Flying Dish Balancing, Sack Race, Flag Race, Three Legged Race, Relay Race, etc. This won derful event came to an end by accolading the winners with medals by the Chairman - Shri Jayendrabhai Shah, Managing Trustee - Shri Simit Shah, Joint Director - Miss. Shairavi Shah and Principal - Ms. Neeta Sharma.

  • ANNUAL CONCERT - STD I & II
Annual Concert "Sparkling Stars" of Std. I and Std. II was celebrated on 27-12-17 and 28-12-17.There was 100% participation of students. All the students enthusiastically participated and displayed their kinesthetic skills. All the dances were appreciated a lot by the audience.The Ideal students were felicitated by Chairman - Shri Jayendrabhai Shah, Managing Trustee - Shri Simit Shah, Joint Director - Miss. Shairavi Shah, Principal - Ms. Neeta Sharma and Incharge – Ms. Sangeeta D’Cruz.


  • ANNUAL CONCERT - STD II & III

Bright Day School CBSE Unit, Harni celebrated its Annual Concert of Std. II & III “Dazzling Stars” on 8th January 2018 and 9th January 2018. The concert showcased the performances of the students with 100% participation. The programme began with an elegant Prayer Dance. The students presented the vibrant dances based on Western Music and Zumba. The “Farmer Theme’ dance was presented in graceful manners. The delightful dance “Hey Krishna” conveyed messages that we should make life full of laughter. It seemed that audience was ready to tap the feet with “Radio Song”. The students presented a lovely performance on the theme ‘Save Environment’. The audience was filled with joy and excitement when the students presented entertaining and energetic Garba dances. The “Malhari” dance was packed with energy and zeal. The dance performance which was a tribute to Neerja Bhanot touched the hearts of the audience.

  • ANNUAL CONCERT - STD IV & XII

Bright Day School CBSE Unit, Harni had its Annual Concert ‘Dazzling Stars’ on 27.01.2018 and 28.01.2018. The concert exhibited the talent of the students. As every programme commences with the blessing of the Almighty. The programme started were a ‘Prayer Dance’ invoking God’s blessings. Dances like ‘Bhangda’, ‘Tipni’ presented the vivacious, vibrant and colourful culture of India. Dances like ‘Holi’, ‘Savan’ showcased the ways to celebrate festivals. The ‘Patriotic’ dance displayed the patriotic fervor among the students while their performance was also appreciated by the audience. ‘Western Dance’ allowed the students to perform in a carefree and relaxed attitude. The Ideal students & winners at International, National, State level were felicitated by Chairman - Shri Jayendrabhai Shah, Managing Trustee - Shri Simit Shah, Joint Director - Miss. Shairavi Shah and Principal - Ms. Neeta Sharma.


  • FAREWELL

A time of all the good times spent in a school is recollected on this day. Std. XII students expressed their feelings about the platform the school gave them for their growth and development from the inception of their academics. Students were blessed by Chairman - Shri Jayendrabhai Shah, Managing Trustee - Shri Simit Shah, Joint Director - Miss. Shairavi Shah, Principal - Ms. Neeta Sharma, HM and Subject teachers. The Heads gave certificates to students for their bright future.


  • SWAMI VIVEKANAND JAYANTI

A tribute to Swami Vivekanand was paid on his 155th birth anniversary.


  • DIBBA PARTY

A dibba party was arranged for students of Std. I on 12.01.2018 wherein students brought healthy food and snacks and shared it with their friends. The main objective was sharing.


  • REPUBLIC DAY

We celebrated 69th Republic Day on 26.01.2018. Chairman - Shri Jayendrabhai Shah unfurled the National Flag and all joined together to sing the National Anthem displaying patriotism towards the Nation. Various activities were conducted the prior day like students presented information about the glorious historical past of India's freedom struggle, how and when India's Constitution came in to force. Children drew the national flag and wrote sentences on Republic Day.

 

ENHANCEMENT PROGRAMMES FOR TEACHERS

  • On 17/11/2017, Ms. Manisha Singh and Ms. Vandana Gadiya attended the workshop on topic of English Language teaching. It was organized by Orient Black Swan. The focus of the workshop was to understand and inculcate the four basic language skills i.e. Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing amongst the students. Mrs. Supriya Khadilkar explained how to teach different grammar concepts using the 2 approaches i.e. shallow end approach and deep end approach. It was an enriching programme.
  • On 21/11/2017, Ms. Ranjana Gangotra attended the workshop on “Sexual abusement among children”. The workshop was conducted by Baroda Citizen Council at Surya Palace. Mr. Mahesh Patel DEO was the guest of honour. The main purpose of the workshop was to spread awareness and start up with awareness programs in all schools.
  • On 25/11/2017, workshop was conducted by Mrs. Suverchala Kashyap on ‘Interpersonal Relations, Positive Attitude’. Teachers were guided about how we can reach within everyone in our surroundings. We enjoyed the session as the faculty kept us hooked on about how we can be flexible, creative, understand the differences, respect and listen to others and these virtues will lead us to be a person who we all want to be. They can also come out of the doubts and fear.
