The theme for World Heritage Day 2026 is “Emergency Response for Living Heritage in Contexts of Conflicts and Disasters.” This theme highlights the urgent need to safeguard our shared heritage—monuments, traditions and ecosystems —especially during times of war, natural disasters and other crises.
Brightians celebrated World Heritage Day with great grandeur and enthusiasm. During the morning assembly, Brightians were briefed about the importance of heritage. The school’s music teacher, Mr. Rajiv Dashputre, sang a soulful song in praise of our country in and its rich heritage. World Earth Day
Earth Day is celebrated worldwide on April 22 every year. Earth Day serves as a platform to teach communities especially students how everyday choices (like reducing plastic, conserving water, and recycling) impact the environment. This year’s theme “Our Power, Our Planet”, emphasizes that people-powered action is essential to protect the planet.
Guided by this year’s theme, Brightians truly embodied the spirit of sustainability and care for our planet. The morning assembly highlighted the significance of Earth Day, reminding everyone of its importance in protecting our planet. The day was filled with enthusiasm as they came together to take a heartfelt pledge to protect Mother Earth, crafted inspiring slogans that echoed the importance of eco-conscious living, and designed vibrant posters that captured the beauty of nature. Adding life to the campus, they joyfully planted saplings, symbolizing hope for a greener tomorrow. Their creativity also shone through in the thoughtful bookmarks, each carrying messages of environmental awareness. Most importantly, Brightians committed to personal Earth Day resolutions - from reducing plastic use to conserving water—showing that small steps can lead to big changes.
The celebration was not just an event, but a reminder that every action counts in building a sustainable future. Together, we can nurture our planet and ensure it thrives for generations to come. Let’s applaud the dedication of our young eco-warriors and carry forward their message: Every day is Earth Day!.
Gujarat Day
જય જય ગરવી ગુજરાત , जय जय महाराष्ट्र माझा
On 1 May 1960, the bilingual Bombay State was partitioned under the Bombay Reorganisation Act, officially creating the separate states of Maharashtra and Gujarat based on linguistic lines. This marked the end of the Samyukta Maharashtra Movement, establishing Mumbai as the capital of Maharashtra, while Gujarat was carved out as a new state. Ever since we celebrate the day as Gujarat Day and Maharashtra Day in respective states.
Brightians celebrated the 66th Gujarat Day today! It wasn’t just a school event; it was a heartfelt tribute to the land we call home. The morning assembly was beautifully conducted in Gujarati, setting the tone for the day. Under the mentorship of our music teacher, Mr. Rajiv Dashputre, the school choir sang soulful songs praising Gujarat, while teachers highlighted the state’s rich heritage and glory. Brightians from Std. I to XII showcased their creativity through activities like drawing Gujarat’s map and depicting its festivals, art, culture, traditions, monuments, cuisine, rivers, mountains and state symbols. Engaging quiz sessions were held to test their knowledge. Brightians even penned heartfelt notes on why they love Gujarat, which were then displayed on a giant map. They also spoke passionately about famous personalities and enjoyed informative videos that brought Gujarat’s story to life. The celebration was a true reflection of unity, pride and love for our state, leaving every Brightian inspired and connected to their roots.
