Narmad Meghani Singing Competition
Narmad Shankar Lalshankar Dave popularly known as Narmad, was an Indian Gujarati-language poet, playwright, essayist, orator, lexicographer and reformer under the British rule. He is considered to be the founder of modern Gujarati literature.
Same way – Zaverchand Meghani was also a prominent Gujarati writer, poet and social reformer known for his contributions to Gujarati literature and his role in the Indian Independence movement. To pay tribute to two such extraordinary personalities of Gujarat, every year Lion’s club of Vodadara organizes the singing competition on 18th September 2024. It is a great pleasure to inform all that this time again Bright Day School became the winners and bagged the first prize in solo and group song categories. A warm and hearty congratulations to all the students and the music teacher who made the event a success.

School Games Federation of India-State Level Competition
Sports provides nourishment to brain and body. Bright Day School focuses on 360 degree holistic development, including academics and extra – curricular activities. Focussing on the aforementioned objectives, students participated in SGFI (School Games Federation of India-State Level Competition)
Girls of Gr IX- 1. Vishwa Pawar (IX–A) secured 3rd position in district level (Riffle Shooting- Pipe Sight) and is now selected for State
Level.
2. Prapti Tiwari (IX-E) secured 3rd position in district level (Lawn -Tennis Under 17) and is now selected for State Level.
Interschool Competition at Nalanda International School - 24th August 2024
Caricature painting is a style of art that exaggerates the features of a person or subject for humorous or satirical effect. Caricature paintings often distort and magnify certain characteristics, such as facial features, body shape, or mannerisms, to create a comical or absurd representation.
- Poke fun at politicians, celebrities, or other public figures
- Create humorous portraits or cartoons
- Exaggerate certain traits or characteristics for comedic effect
- Create satirical or ironic commentary on current events or societal issues
Nalanda international school had organised an interschool competition of Caricature painting on 24/08/24 and it was a moment of pride as Yashvi Shah of Std XA bagged the second prize.

Teachers Day Celebrations
‘Your teacher can open the door
But you must Enter.’
To commemorate the birth of the second President of India Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, who was a philosopher and a great teacher, 5th September every year is celebrated as Teacher’s Day. His contribution towards Indian education is undeniable. The Teacher’s Day was organized with incredible gusto and zeal by the students of STD 9th-12th. The first four periods were meant for celebration. Selected students presented themselves as different teachers and went to teach in different classes. It was a fun frolic day for the students.

Ganesh Chaturthi Celebrations
Ganesh Chaturthi, also known as Vinayaka Chaturthi, is a significant Hindu festival celebrated in honor of Lord Ganesha, the elephant-headed deity.
Significance of the celebrations :-
- Remover of Obstacles: Lord Ganesha is revered as the remover of obstacles and challenges.
- New Beginnings: Ganesh Chaturthi marks the beginning of new ventures, projects, and auspicious events.
- Wisdom and Knowledge: Ganesha is the embodiment of wisdom, intelligence, and knowledge.
Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations were conducted in our school. Sthapna of Ganesh idol was done by Saumil Sir. Children draped in attire’s resembling the family of lord shiva along with a procession was a major attraction of the celebrations and students also performed lezim dance on the occasion of Chaturthi celebrations. It was marked with idol decorations and prayers. Students actively participated and enjoyed the celebrations.
Hindi Diwas Celebrations
To commemorate our National and widely spoken language in India every year 14th September is celebrated as Hindi Diwas. On this 14th September 1949, Hindi got the status of National Language. Being a proud Indian, every citizen should show respect to this language. All the student celebrated it with various activities like speech delivery, poem writing and paragraph writing.
G. K. Competition
“All the world is a laboratory to the inquiring minds.”
Bright Day School nurtures the inquisitive mind. To hone this talent of the students, a Quiz Competition was organised on 22nd August, 2024, in 4 groups as per the houses –Arjun, Ashoka, Pratap and Shivaji. The major objective of this was to emphasize on the improvement of the intellect and General Knowledge of the students. It was an inter- house competition held for students of Grade IX. Total five students were there in each team.
Quiz Mistress Ms Vidya and Ms Dipal conducted the quiz in a very interactive way and the teams participated with great enthusiasm. They skillfully answered the questions asked. Though some of the questions were very tricky, the teams tried to answer them with confidence. The questions put forth to the teams were intriguing and exciting. The audience clapped when the teams answered correctly. The audience also got a chance to participate every time the teams answered incorrectly.
Quiz was very informative and knowledge enriching for the participants as well as for the audience. The students displayed ecstatic spirit and enjoyed the quiz to the fullest. It must be written here that this type of competition enhances eagerness among students.
The winning house received the accolades and appreciations from our dignified Principal Ms Manisha Dabi.

Hindi Elocution Competition
On 19th September Hindi Elocution was organized for the students of class 9. The students delivered their views on various topics. Their fluency in the language and their content to justify the topics showed their love and dedication to Hindi our Rashtriya Bhasha.

Drawing Competition
“There is no blue without yellow and without orange.”
Colours, the silent influencers that shape our moods, decisions, and experiences, hold a remarkable power over the human psyche that often goes unnoticed in our daily lives. On 25th and 26th September, a Drawing Competition was held for Gr X and Gr IX respectively. Topics were ISRO - Giant Leap in Space Program (for Gr X) and Technological Development in India (for Gr IX). Taking a leap to enter a drawing competition requires courage and confidence. Regardless of the outcome, the act of putting the students artwork out there can contribute to the development of confidence and self-esteem.
Traffic Awareness Seminar - 3rd August 2024
There is an increasing trend of unsafe driving that leads to vehicle accidents in which many people die, undergo serious injuries or lose their body parts permanently. Many of these accidents occur due to poor driving skills, non-adherence to road safety precautions, lack of awareness and violation of traffic rules. Just to promote the same awareness among the students of 10th and 11th, the traffic police carried out a seminar on the risk taken by the students who are yet not eligible for driving and are underage. The respected police in charge Sir Vijay Patel (PSI), Sayajigunj explained the hazards of driving and the penalty levied on them and their parents. They also informed the importance of safety measures taken while driving.
